Luis is off...life goes on...

Well, I guess I should let everyone know how things are going. Luis left for bootcamp yesterday and he got there safe and sound. He called me to let me know he was there but by accident I pushed the ignore button on my phone and missed his phone call. I was extemely upset seeing as how this was the last phone call I would receive until who knows when. He left a cute message though and that sort of makes up for missing his phone call. He left a day late because of the massive snow fall in the Salt Lake area. And the lastest on our house...yeah touchy subject. We were supposed to close before Luis left but they asked for an extension so we were nice and gave it to them. Well yesterday we cancelled the contract because they just keep asking to extend and I'm tired of it. We are now in the possess of finding a new buyer. Wish us luck...we will need it...and any prayers you would like to send our way we would appreciate it. And so now the girls and I are at my mom and dad's house in Hurricane, UT. It's crazy here with 5 kids and 5 adults (my sister and her family live here as well) but it will work out. I'm going a little crazy with nothing to do so I'm looking for a part time job just to get out of the house every once in awhile. Well that's about all for now.

Awaiting news....

So things have been pretty stressful at the Cano house since we are still waiting to hear about the sell of our house. We are waiting on a response to our counter offer and we can't wait to get the news that our house will be sold. This is just one of our stresses as of right now. I am starting to get stressed...ok I've been stressed for awhile about my husband leaving. 38 days and counting.... That becomes pretty stressful when you think about him being gone for about 3 1/2 to 4 months. Luckily I will be living with my parents who will be a great support while he is gone. I am also stressed about moving out of a house that is so big and going to a place where there won't be much space. We have so much stuff. We are trying to sell most of our furniture because we won't be needing two living room sets and a spare bed and my precious piano we have to sell too. There just won't be enough room for all that we have when we move to wherever Luis just stationed. It will be a crazy life that is to come but we feel that it will be good for our family. We will be sad to leave Tooele because we have really grown to love this precious little city. Maybe someday we will return but it probably won't be the same if we do come back. Just a few of the many stresses of our lives right now but things will be ok...just a little crazy for awhile that's all.

Kaitlin...is she accident pron?

So our darling Kaitlin had a bad September. I just wanted all of you to see her darling face before her accidents in Septmeber.

So I was over visiting a neighbor when all of a sudden I heard a scream, but not just any scream. It was one of those screams where you know something really bad happened. So I jumped up and ran out to the backyard where the kids were playing and well Kaitlin was bleeding. She fell down the stairs and she cut open her forehead. At the time I was a little scared but my wonderful neighbor helped me get through the situation and get the bleeding stopped at which point we got her to another friend (the paramedic) and got her all fixed up for the night. The next day we headed to the doctor and ended up with 5 stitches. Here is a not so good picture of her forehead after the stitches were out.
Well about a week and a half later we were sitting in church and Kaitlin was getting pretty rowdy when she just happened to fall off the bench and hit her eyebrow on the leg of the bench. Normally I would just throw her face into my shirt and then leave sacrament meeting but for some reason I felt that I needed to look at her face and I'm glad I did. I said "You've got to be kidding me" and jumped up from the bench and told my friend (the paramedic again) who just happened to be sitting behind me that she cut open her head again. He helped us get the bleeding stopped and we were off to the urgent care to get some more stitches. Well, the one fun thing that came out of both situations is KAITLIN'S TOUGH FACE!!
We love her even with all her scars!! We just hope that this is the end of all her accidents for awhile. I don't think this mom could handle anymore right now!

Time for pictures!!

Recently Luis and I celebrated our 4 year wedding anniversary. I made this cake for a nice sweet treat after dinner the day after our anniversary. I have been interested in cake decorating lately but this isn't a good job at it. It was just fun to try something new. My mom always had fun decorating cakes and so I think I'm catching the bug. Kristine's 3rd birthday is coming up so we'll see what I can do for her B-day!!

So here are some pictures from the pool. My friend Sarah introduced us to the Tooele Army Depot pool and we have taken the girls a couple times this summer. Here is our first visit, Kaitlin's first time at the swimming pool. She really loves water and we are trying to get Kristine excited about the swimming pool. They had these perfect little kid sized chairs they love sitting in.

Kristine got daring and decided to climb up and down the ladder. She was holding on for dear life but she was having fun.

We have had some fun family memories this summer. We are surely going to miss Tooele when we have to leave!

Another update in Cano's world

Well it has defiantly been a very long time since I have updated our blog. Life has been absolutely crazy around here. We had a visit from two of my nieces for two weeks in June and they were fun to have here. They helped us finish painting our guest bedroom and started to help pack up my our house. The only problem is that we will not be moving as of yet. The sell of our house fell through and we aren't too disappointed because we really didn't want to move quite yet. We are now just working on our yard trying to get it looking nice so we can put our house on the market. We have also been busy having fun with our girls this summer while Luis is off of the school district. We have pictures to post of our swimming trip to the pool here in Tooele but I'll get to that later.

Yesterday was our 4 year Anniversary. We had a nice evening out to Sizzer. We both can't believe that it has been 4 years. The time has gone by so quickly. Having our little girls sure makes time go by even quicker.

I also just wanted to let everyone know that my back is doing a lot better. I have been doing Spinal Decompression with a Chiropractor and it has been amazing. I still have nerve pain often but nothing like before. And I can also stand up striaght so I don't look like an old lady anymore. That makes me happy. Well that's our update and I'll get to those pictures of swimming soon. I'm excited to post them because it was Kaitlin's first time at the swimming pool.

Update about life at the Cano House

This is just an update for everyone. After my back appointment I went in to have my cortizon shot on Friday and things were going well and I was even laughing during the procedure until "Oh Crap" he hit my nerve, my sciatic nerve. Yeah that's the nerve that has been hurting me for the last 2 months. Boy, can we say PAINFUL!!!!!!!!!!!! Anyway, I'm feeling much better now. My back is still a little sore but for the most part I feel good. And the best news is, no more pinched nerve all day long. That I am so happy about. I still do have sciatic nerve pain at night when I lay in bed but I've learned to just deal with that. Well that's all about my back.

So, now on to the other news. We are under contract for our house. Yeah that's right we are selling our house. For those that don't know Luis joined the Navy and we have found a buyer for our house. Our tenitive closing date is Aug. 3rd. I don't think we will have any problems keeping this date because we have the time to get things done. The whole thing has just been amazing and defiantly an answer to our prayers. I'll have to post that story later cuz it's a little late and I need to get to bed. But anyway, we are so grateful for the Lord's blessings in our life right now and are excited that we have been so blessed.

My Back Appoinment

Well, yesterday we went to the back specialist to find out what the options were for my back. I was told that I have one disc that is bulged in two different spots (on the right and left side) which pinches my sciatic nerve. Not too fun but such is my luck. Today we are going back to get a shot of cortizon in my back. Hopefully this will relieve some of the pain and I can get back to normal. I'm just hoping for enough relief to actually walk normal (so I don't look like an 80 year old walking in a 30 year old body). Here's to hoping!!! Wish me luck and I'll update you all later!!

Kaitlin's Birthday!

Here's our Birthday Girl Kaitlin Abigail Cano!! She had her Brithday Party on Saturday May 2nd. She wasn't feeling very good that day. She defiantly wasn't herself. She only wanted me to hold her and she didn't even want her cupcake. I felt really bad for her.
Here is the cake that Abuelita made for Kaitlin. As you can see she really wasn't feeling good. She's not even smiling for the pictures. She has such a cute smile I'm sad we didn't get it on camera.
Our Family Picture for the day.
She was a little excited for her presents. I was trying to get her to take her own presents out of the bags. She did ok for a first timer. I just can't believe that she is one now. I went visiting teaching the other day and my friend mentioned, "Just think it was last year at this time that you were miserable and ready to get her out." I said, "Yeah that's crazy that a year later I still feel miserable with my back." I got the results of my MRI last week on Friday. My doctor told me that I have two ruptured discs in my lower back. I'm going to see a Back Specialist to find out what we can do to get some relief.
And the last picture! Kaitlin loves baths so we got her a toy boat with sea animals. She was having a fun time playing with the boat. I think if she felt better she would be having some fun with it in the bathtub too. All in all it was a good day. We had a fun time at the party. Kaitlin did very well for not feeling very good. She got sicker that night and had the flu on her actual birthday. We'll have to do something later on when she is feeling herself again. Maybe she'll actully eat a cupcake and we can get a picture of it stuffed in her face. That's the picture I really wanted to be on here.

Can't wait to find out

So tomorrow is the big day. We will finally be finding out what is wrong with my back. Well we probably won't know anything tomorrow but at least I have my appointment for an MRI. I really can't wait to find out what is wrong and what we can do to make things better. My back has been really bad this week and on Tuesday I was so drugged on my pain pills that I don't remember much that happened. I could fall asleep sitting up. Crazy!! The last two days have been a little better but still pretty painful. When you can't stand up straight there is defiantly something wrong with you. Well, I'm nervous but excited to see what the result is so we can move forward from here. I just want to be able to pick up my baby without pain shotting down my leg. That sciatic nerve is really pinched. Wish us luck!!!

Kristine's 1st Dentist Appointment

Today was Kristine's 1st dentist appoinment. It was fun. I had my teeth cleaned first and then it was Kristine's turn. She did really good.

This is a picture of the nice clean smiles of mommy and Kristine!!
She had to sit on my lap to get her teeth cleaned but like I said she did really good.

She only cried once when they put the cleaning tool in her mouth but after that she was fine. The nurse said that most kids get scared from the tool that sucks the water out of their mouths but Kristine loved it. She thought it was a straw and was trying to suck on it.

Here is our happy little girl!!
She was really such a good girl. We had a fun time at the dentist. The really funny thing about the whole day was when we got home and Luis asked Kristine if she went to the dentist today. She said yes and then her daddy made the noise of the cleaning tool and poked his finger into her. She gave him a really bad look and then said "Daddy you scared me." It was sooo funny. Luis and I tried so hard not to laugh out loud. It was a great night!!

Easter!!

Well, what a fun Easter Sunday we had. It all started out dying eggs in the morning (I forgot to take pictures). It was so fun though. Kristine had a fun time putting stickers on the eggs and saying who they were. "It's daddy" she would say when she put the stickers of the eyes and smiles on. Then it was off to church for a great meeting. Luis and I both had to teach in Relief Soceity and Priesthood. It was a busy Sunday for us.

When we got home the girls went outside with daddy to take Liebe out and I stayed inside to hide the eggs. It was so fun to watch Kristine so excited to find the eggs. Kaitlin just sat and played with the basket the whole time. Kristine would get mad at her because Kaitlin kept taking all the eggs out after she would put them in. It was funny.

Kristine was so fun to watch. She would just get this look of excitement when she would see another egg. As you can see from the pictures she was so so excited.

I just loved this picture of daddy and the girls so I had to post it. My girls look so much like their dad. Kristine just loves her daddy so much too. It is do fun to watch your kids grow up.

And here's the baby. I can't believe that Kaitlin is almost 1. She has grown so fast and it has been great being home with her. I never thought that it would work out for me to be a stay at home mom but the Lord truly does bless when you are doing the right thing. I'm so blessed to have such a hard working husband.

These are some pictures from our FHE Monday night. Kristine loves to play the piano or "pinano" as she calls it. She waited until we were finished with our lesson and then jumped up on the bench and started playing and singing the ABC song. She really loves music. She loves to sing her songs from Primary or "Pimary" as she calls it. Her favorites are Do As I'm Doing; Head, Shoulders, Knees, and Toes; and The Wheels on the Bus. We sing these songs a lot throughout the day. I just love it when she sits down at the piano and plays and sings her songs. Kaitlin loves to play the piano too. She always pulls herself up to the piano and just smiles when she hears the music coming from the piano. It's sooo cute.

This is that smile that Kaitlin loves to flash. It's a little blurry and we have been trying for the longest time to get a picture of it cuz she looks adorable with her little teeth showing. Someday we'll get a good picture.

Kristine also had a great time tickling her sister. She will pin Kaitlin down and then punch her fingers into Kaitlin's belly. Kaitlin loves it and Kristine is always good about not doing it too hard.
We are excited that Luis' schedule changed so that we can have FHE together.

Today was a good day!!! Luis came home from Peru today...Yeah!!! I was so excited to see him and so were the girls. After we all woke up from a nap Kristine just wanted to do everything with her daddy. It was so cute. She would say, "Come on Daddy" and grab his hand to lead him downstairs to watch Cars with her. Then she just sat on his lap and really enjoyed having her daddy home. I was also so grateful to have him home. It's going to be really hard when he has to leave for the Navy. We will hopefully stay really busy so the months will go by fast. But for the time being...we are glad to have him home.

Thursday, March 12, 2009

Well, today hasn't been the best of days. We took Kaitlin to the doctor and found out that she has pneamonia. That's a little scary for a 10 month old. Also, I'm really missing my husband who flew to Peru yesterday. I'm trying to keep busy by working hard on my dresses that I'm sewing. It helps but it is still so hard to not have him here and not be able to talk to him as much as I do when he is home. I don't know how it's going to be when he goes to Basic Training for the Navy. That's going to be even more difficult because I won't be able to talk to him at all. I guess this is good preparation time for us.

Today I decided that it would probably be a good idea to start a blog to help keep everyone updates on our life. We'll see how this goes...
